Our family's history
The Origins

First of all Kairos is a family story.
It all began with Daniela, who grew up among the stalls of the Testaccio market where her grandparents ran a butcher shop. From a young age, she understood that Rome is experienced above all through its people, and that hospitality is not just a profession but also, and above all, a way of being in the world.
Through the chatter at the counter, the Roman folk songs, and the smell of pizza and mortadella, she learned that people are always the most beautiful part of this city. Daniela lives in a small house by the sea, where she spends her time tending to her plants and telling stories of a city she never ceases to love. She seized the "opportune moment" to retire, enjoying the company of her grandchildren, family lunches, and the sound of the sea.
Her daughter Paola and granddaughter Ludovica continue this small family story with the same values. They will be there to welcome you, doing everything possible, and sometimes even the impossible, to fulfill your every request.

The district: Centocelle
Kairos is located in Centocelle, one of Rome's most authentic and vibrant neighborhoods, still preserving the peace of everyday life. Sometimes the best way to get to know Rome is to experience it like the Romans do!
It is a historic neighborhood in eastern Rome that, from a working-class suburb, has undergone a redevelopment and transformed into a vibrant and creative area known for its nightclubs, independent bookstores, and strong working-class identity.
This allows you to immerse yourself in the monuments without sacrificing tranquility.
Rome's historic district is easily accessible:
- by Metro C, from which Kairos is a five-minute walk,
- by bus (including night buses)
- by tram (direct to Termini Station).
A two room apartment
The Apartment
The apartment is on the ground floor of a two-story building, overlooking the Alessandrino aqueduct on a side street sheltered from traffic.
This is Kairos: a home that aims not to impress but to welcome.
We chose bright colors for the furnishings and light wood for the parquet floors, leaving room for simplicity for a warm and relaxed atmosphere.
You can take a moment to sit in the armchair, drink a cup of tea, browse the books, and/or leave a thought in the Guest Diary.
